My favorite time of year has arrived. When things cool down and the buzzing insects wane in the (mostly) cooler, dryer air. Amongst the falling leaves, my garden beckons me to plant my cool-season greens that I dream of putting in all sorts of wintery recipes. Gardening in winter, you say, what is this I speak of?Here in North Central Florida, we have mild winters which means we get to have a second season of gardening, often referred to as the cool season. I like to call it our 'secret' gardening season because, when the rest of the country is shutting down their gardens for winter and heading indoors, Florida gardeners in-the-know are emerging from their air-conditioned cocoons and heading outside to prepare their gardens for a winter bounty.
